The initiative is a concerted effort to bring together all the industry blocks in a unified effort to promote growth in the Creative Multimedia Industry. The initiative is a commitment by MDeC to help address the many issues affecting the growth of the creative multimedia content industry. Multimedia Super Corridor(MSC), through this strategic initiative, is ready to develop the industry and turn it into one of the main engines of growth for Malaysia.

Its main objective is to develop the creative multimedia industry and create a content cluster that contributes:

To generate economic growth
Bridge digital divide
Spearhead the use of technology in the country
Establish local expertise capable of producing “Malaysian” content that encompass national values
Focusing on IP creation

The numbers do not lie. MDeC believes the industry can indeed tap into the segments of the global market.

MDeC hope to catalyse the industry by implementing the following broad strategies within the M-CMCI:

Utilising MSC designated areas as hubs for the creative multimedia industry through the establishment of Digital Media Zones
Strategic alliances with content distributors locally and globally
Focusing on funding IP in creative content creation
Providing comprehensive skills development programmes for the creative content industry
Providing accessible content creation infrastructure for local developers and entrepreneurs

This Initiative will help creative multimedia content companies by providing a sustainable environment via the implementation of the creative multimedia content framework. The framework will not only benefit the traditional content companies but will create a new set of spin off industries.

Companies will be able to find affordable funding and access to infrastructure via the digital media zone. The industry will have a strong talent pool through the Human resource development programs and develop a larger consumer base via its market access programs.

This initiative will push Malaysian creative multimedia content companies into the global arena.
